Verrus Expands Pay by Phone Parking Coverage in the Greater Vancouver Area

Over 85% of all meter and surface lot spaces now allow park and pay by phone

Vancouver, B.C. March 6, 2007 – Verrus™ Mobile Technologies Inc., the pioneer in pay by phone systems, announced today the launch of its pay by phone parking service at all EasyPark™ Vancouver surface lots, expanding its service coverage in the Vancouver area to more than 500 lots and 8,300 on-street meters. Since the service’s original introduction in the region back in 2001, Verrus has processed millions of local pay by phone parking transactions.

To use the Verrus pay by phone parking service, motorists call into the Verrus system, enter the location number of the meter or parking lot, and then enter the total time they’d like to park for (up to the maximum time allowed by the city, municipality, or lot operator). First-time users of the system create their accounts online at www.verrus.com making the entry of credit card and license plate information fast and easy. Additionally, new users can do this from the streets via their phone if needed.

Parking with Verrus provides the following unique benefits to motorists:

The greater Vancouver metropolitan area today marks the largest North American deployment of pay by phone parking services. In 2001, Imperial Parking was the first parking operator to adopt the Verrus pay by phone parking service which it operates under its "Impark Wireless™" brand. Since then, Advanced Parking, Metro Parking, and Diamond Parking have followed suit. The City of Vancouver and its neighbouring cities of White Rock and Richmond have also incorporated the Verrus service into their on-street parking spaces, with the City of Vancouver offering it at their 8,300 meters.
