Verrus Launches First-of-Its-Kind Parking Information System at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport
Verrus Updates Travelers with Real-time Parking Availability Information
Vancouver, BC –– May, 2007– Verrus, a leading provider of phone-based payment systems within the parking industry, is pleased to announce its new real-time parking availability information system for the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP). Travelers heading to the airport can obtain real-time parking availability information by either calling in for an audible message or automated text request.
The two airport parking facilities, the Lindbergh and Humphrey Terminals, are situated several miles apart. MSP currently has 20,000 parking spaces between these two parking facilities. Use of the facilities is consistently high, and the new system allows travelers to arrive on schedule for their flights receiving real time parking availability information in advance. Verrus supplied the complete automated menu system which includes both audible and text messaging options. Travelers are planning ahead by simply calling in for an audible real-time message or request for text message at user-specified times.
"We wanted to provide a world-class parking information system for our airport customers. We looked at other companies with similar services and selected Verrus for their proven success in the industry. Being a public corporation we wanted a supplier that has the structure and know how to support our ongoing airport parking needs and expansion. It was a great decision, as initial customer feedback has been extremely positive," says Arlie Johnson, assistant airport director for landside operations, Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. "We are excited to see our customers really taking advantage of this convenient new program."
"We are very excited to have the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on board as a new customer. This airport parking program is a first of its kind, and we are proud to have played a key role. This application illustrates the true flexibility of the Verrus Mobile Commerce Platform from pay by phone to mobile messaging. Providing both audible and text message information allows travelers to easily identify their best parking options and reduce their commute time," said Neil Podmore, vice president business development, Verrus.
