MORE May 2008 – Verrus' Park & Pay by Phone Service Rolled Out at First Capital Connect Car Parks
Following a successful trial at St Neots and Harpenden of Verrus' mobile phone payment service, rail operator, First Capital Connect (FCC) together with parking partner NCP, is rolling out the Verrus phone payment service at all of its 40 station car parks from May 1st 2008.

Winchester City Council is the latest local authority to adopt the Verrus mobile phone payment service at six of its central pay and display car parks.

Following a successful pilot in two of it's parking zones, Westminster City Council has awarded Verrus UK Ltd a five year contract to provide its cashless mobile phone payment service bringing the total number of spaces offering the service to over 7,000.
MORE May 2008 – Miami becomes the first major US city to offer citywide pay by phone parking
With the launch of Verrus, the City of Miami becomes the first major US city to offer on street pay by phone parking citywide. In conjunction with the on street launch, numerous off street parking facilities in Miami are also enabled with Verrus.
May 2008 – Verrus?Park & Pay by Phone service rolled out at First Capital Connect car parks

April 2008 – Winchester launches Verrus service at city centre car parks
Winchester City Council is the next local authority to adopt the Verrus mobile phone payment service at its central pay and display car parks. Launched at the beginning of April, early indications show that the service is proving very popular with local motorists.
January 2008 – Verrus secures Westminster contract for citywide rollout of phone parking
Following a successful pilot in two of its parking zones, Westminster City Council has awarded Verrus a long term contract to provide its cashless mobile phone payment service, bringing the total number of spaces offering the service in Westminster to over 7,000. The contract has been awarded under the Central London Parking In Partnershipė­© (PiP) Framework agreement which will enable other members of the PiP consortium to take advantage of the Verrus service.
December 2007 – Verrus expands in southern California
Verrus partner Diamond Parking offers customers the option to stay cool in their cars and pay for parking by cell phone at many lots in Santa Ana, Long Beach and Riverside. Customers can add parking time by phone without returning to the lot.
October 2007 – Verrus launches pay by phone parking on street in Winnipeg
Winnipeg parkers can now pay for their on street parking with Verrus. This augments Verrus' existing extensive off street parking coverage in Winnipeg.
September 2007 – Verrus goes BIG in Texas
Dallas drivers can now enjoy paying for parking with cell phones at many of the surface lots operated by the City and Platinum Parking. These include lots in the central business district, Deep Ellum and close the American Airlines Center.

August 2007 – Verrus and Redwood City launch parking promotion for month of August
The City of Redwood City, CA and Verrus team up to offer two hours of free parking every time a motorist pays by phone at Redwood City meters during the month of August.

Customers can conveniently pay for taxi fares using their mobile phones.

Over 85% of all meter and surface lot spaces now allow park and pay by phone.

display parking spaces
January 2007 – Oxford City Council launches the Verrus service in its city centre off street car parks.
With all day tariffs running at around £15, it is expected that the Verrus service will prove very popular in Oxford.
December 2006 – over a two week period, Westminster City Council removes 440 meters from Soho and goes phone payment only in these spaces.
It marks an historic moment and probably the beginning of the end for the parking meter in the UK which were first installed in London in 1958.
November 2006 – Colchester BC introduces the Verrus service.
A new integrated system for enforcement has been provided through enforcement services supplier, Chipside, enabling the PAs to enforce the Verrus service without leaving the Chipside environment. It provides a seamless solution for the PAS, simplifying the process.

MOREOctober 2006 – Westminster City Council implements the Verrus service in the Soho and Harrow Rd
areas of the borough.

Initially the service will be an alternative to pay and display and meter payments but in what is thought to be a first for a UK authority, Westminster will implement the first truly cashless parking area when it removes all the meters from Soho and switches to pay by phone only. Where pay and display machines are installed in Soho, the current machines will be replaced by credit card accepting pay and display machines thereby giving the motorist the opportunity to pay either through the machine or via phone.

MORESept 2006 – Phone payment takes off nationwide with Verrus U.K.
August 2006 – Lincoln City Council has just implemented the Verrus system across its 2000 off street spaces.
Councillor Fay Smith, portfolio holder for the environment at the council, said: "I think this payment option is fantastic. I am sure that many people arrive at a pay and display car park and discover they do not have change. To have this option will be very helpful."
Summer 2006 – The UK’s largest parking operator, NCP, has opted to implement the Verrus service at many of its managed rail station car parks.
Following a successful trial at Cardiff station car parks, the system has been introduced at all of ARRIVA’s car parks as well as with selected sites for ONE Railway, C2C, Central Trains and Network Rail.

MOREJuly 2006 - Birmingham City Council is the first authority to introduce pay by mobile phone for on street
parking in England.
Motorists in Birmingham can now pay by mobile phone across a total of 8000 spaces which includes all off street pay and display car parks as well as the central business zone on street locations. The scheme is operating on a one year trial basis and if successful may be extended to the other on street locations within the city.

June 2006 – The beautiful spa town of Cheltenham has joined the growing list of UK locations where motorists can pay for parking by mobile phone.
The local authority has introduced the Verrus system in all of its 2000 off street spaces as an alternative method of payment to pay and display.

All 8,300 City of Vancouver parking meters now accept payment by mobile phone as an alternative to paying at the meter with coins.
MOREFeb 13 2006 – Salisbury District Council Goes Mobile with Verrus Mobile
Salisbury is the latest council to adopt the Verrus mobile phone payment system. Launched on February 1st 2006, the council has introduced phone payment across all their car parks and to provide their customers with a highly convenient payment option.
Jan 31 2006 – Aloha to Verrus Pay by Phone Parking in Hawaii
Life is easier in Hawaii thanks to the introduction of pay by cell parking. Verrus is pleased to introduce its cell phone payment system with Diamond Parking as an easier parking payment option for visitors and residents in downtown Honolulu.
Nov 23 2005 – City of York (U.K.) Introduces Pay by Phone Parking with Verrus
Verrus Mobile Phone Payment system is available at all City of York off street car parks, comprising over 3,000 spaces. This is the first city wide stand alone mobile phone payment system to be implemented in England.
Nov 2 2005 – Verrus Powers New Text Message (SMS) News Alert Service for MTS and Global TV
MTS customers can opt in by text message to short code “NEWS(6397)” to receive news previews from Global TV delivered to their phone. This new service runs on the Verrus Mobile Payments and Messaging Platform and allows organizations anywhere to manage customer lists and send updates by text message.
Oct 3 2005 – University of Miami at Coral Gables Adopts Verrus Pay by Phone for On-Campus Parking
University of Miami includes a pay by phone option for parking at Coral Gables campus. Using the Verrus Mobile Payments and Messaging Platform, the U of M System automatically updates parking meters with new payment information.
Sept 5 2005 – Verrus Pay by Text Message (SMS) Now Available for Parking in Winnipeg
With Verrus’ help, Winnipeg is the first city in North America to accept payments by text message at select parking areas. Pay by Text is a new extension of the Verrus Mobile Payments and Messaging Platform for communicating and transacting by SMS.

July 15 2005 – Verrus Goes Live at Yale Medical School
Students can now pay for parking by phone at Yale. No problems running late for lessons or working late.
June 10 2005 – Verrus Goes to Hollywood
City of West Hollywood launches trial of Verrus pay by phone service on Sunset Boulevard alongside Verrus partner, Digital Payment Technologies and their innovative payment machines.
May 27 2005 – Verrus Pay by Phone Launches in the U.K.
Cardiff and Southampton are the first cities in the U.K. to benefit from Verrus pay by phone service at APCOA-managed car parks.
April 8 2005 – City of Richmond Signs on With Verrus
Residents and visitors will now be able to pay for on-street parking by mobile phone in Richmond, B.C., a suburb of Vancouver. The City also adopted Verrus’ “Meter Out of Order” solution from the company’s suite of parking applications.
March 11 2005 – Verrus Appoints VP of Sales
Buzz Hemphill joins Verrus as Vice President of Sales. Buzz has extensive previous experience managing and growing sales in fast growing companies, most recently with Class Software.
Feb 15 2005 – Verrus Launches Digital Parking Permit Solution
Verrus announces the availability of “Digital Parking Permits” as part of its suite of parking applications eliminating the need for hang tags or paper-based permits. In one college implementation, the Verrus system replaced 15,000 hang tags saving the college money on the tags themselves and with the overhead associated with the tag administration.
Jan 26 2005 – Verrus Rolls Out Pay by Phone Parking in 3 Canadian Cities
In conjunction with Imperial Parking (“Impark”), Verrus deploys pay by phone parking in Calgary, Edmonton, and Winnipeg allowing motorists at Impark parking areas to pay from the warmth of their car.
Dec 3 2004 – Verrus Expands Operations to Europe
Verrus announces the formation of Verrus U.K. Limited responsible for launching Verrus pay by phone services in Europe. Robin Bevan is appointed Chief Executive Officer of Verrus U.K.
Nov 5 2004 – Verrus Deploys First Ever On-Street Pay by Phone Parking Service Within North America
In the City of White Rock, a suburb of Vancouver, B.C., Verrus deploys its pay by phone parking service with on-street parking spaces for the first time in North America. Service allows motorists to pay or extend parking by phone in conjunction with on-street payment machines.
Oct 8 2004 – Verrus Launches Text Messaging (SMS) Entertainment for Fans at MTS Center
Verrus launches new service to allow fans to vote, answer trivia, and play contests in real time as game is in progress at the new MTS Center in Winnipeg, Canada.
Sept 3 2004 – University of British Columbia Deploys Verrus’ “Meter Out of Order System”
Verrus launches its automated meter management system at all parking meters and payment machines at the university minimizing downtime for out-of-service meters.
May 4 2004 – Verrus Wins Canadian Wireless Innovation Award
Verrus wins “Best Collaborative Project” award from the Wireless Innovation Network of British Columbia (WINBC), for its innovative pay by phone technology.
